I don't know about other parts of CA, But the Nat Forest I shoot it (Los Padres) is now closed for shooting untill fire season is over. This is the third or fourth year in a row they have pulled this. Looks like it is here to stay.

On the 15 minute drive home from work, I saw 4 different fires today. One may have been controlled or it was just extinguished. Either way, lots of fires today, so they are either REALLY scared or it's a good idea to be careful.

Not all that surprising since over the years there have been several fires set accidentally by careless shooters.  And one really nasty big one set by a hunter on purpose.

ORV's and cigarettes start more fires than shooting.
