Yeah, I get to fire my handgun for the first time (picking it up the night before). Can't wait.

If it's alright with whoever goes, let us know what type of ammo to bring since it has kind of turned into a "try mine to see if you like it" type of shoot for us amatuers.

but why not wait till the 17th, when most of all the socal member will be there, and im pretty sure most of them would let you shoot some of their ar-15s?

Sundays and Mondays are my only days off, so I can't make it to the Burro shoots

Maybe I can make it to this one.....I'll see how Sunday looks for me since I'll be in Paramount on Monday.

Since I'll be a little too far away on Saturday, for the Burro Shoot, and will have to miss this one.

I am picking up the last of my ammo tomorrow when I get my gun, so let me know what to bring aside from the stuff I got for Foogoo's and my guns.

Got my pistol! I will get a picture as soon as I can, but for now, eye candy for mr foogoo:

ETA:

Ok, the Monster itself

The sights it has

And a comparison of rounds

CCI .22 CB Short, Remington .22 Yellow Jacket, Remington .45 UMC, American Eagle 7.62x39 FMJ, and Winchester 12g.

Don't be folled by the size though, the hefty .45 weighs in at 230 grain while the 7.62 is only 124. Needless to say, I am a bit intimidated by the .45

Here's to returning the favor:

I had a HUGE order of ammo from CTD I placed last week but I just got the tracking number last friday and it's not supposed to arrive until tuesday so I ran to turners and got this. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Tomorrow? We were planning on meeting at 10, but if we need to get their earlier or later, that is fine.

What other ammo should I bring? I got the .45, 7.62x39, .22, and 12gauge.

The Four Rules of Firearms Handling
by Jeff Cooper

Rule 1
ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED.
The only exception to this occurs when you have a firearm in your hands and you have personally unloaded it for checking. As soon as you put it down, Rule 1 applies again

Rule 2
NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY.
You may not wish to destroy it, but you must be clear in your mind that you are quite ready to if you let that muzzle cover the target. To allow a firearm to point at another human being is a deadly threat, and should always be treated as such.

Rule 3
KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET.
This we call the Golden Rule because its violation is responsible for about 80 percent of the firearms disasters we read about.

Rule 4
BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT.
You never shoot at anything until you have positively identified it. You never fire at a shadow, or a sound, or a suspected presence. You shoot only when you know absolutely what you are shooting at and what is beyond it

before i invite you guys to the private range at burro on monday, please im me a message of who you are and what cars you guys will be driving
thanks triple b

so what's the new plan then?

BangBangBoogie: That'll be awesome if you could get us a private range.

I might pick up more .45 tomorrow morning. I think we've got enough .22 and 12ga (see how much your shoulder can take ) and I'll let you guys shoot the SKS. Let me know if there's any other caliber I should pick up.

BTW. Does Burro not sell ammo anymore? I don't see it on their site.

I have to break out a little earlier than most, so I'll have to stop by Walmart or something. Hopefully they will have some, or else I will just pick some up at Burro

oh yeah......where are we meeting if it isn't at the normal range area? I've never been so a bit of detail would be helpful.

alright, well I have to go to sleep. I'll try to check in on this in the morning before I leave, but I am leaving at probably around 8, so post what information you have tonight.

See everyone who is going there.
