Just received my pending sales receipt from Emily at Anvil Arms.

They included Florida State Sales Tax.

I didn't think they could charge you FL sales tax if you are a GA resident, but I might be wrong. Florida has an internet tax, but as far as I know, it only applies to Fl residents receiving internet purchases from other states/countries. Also, it is the FL buyers responsibility to file and pay the tax, NOT a retailer.

Its not normal for an out of state retailer to charge you sales tax unless they have a business presence in your state, companies like Walmart and Sears will do when you buy online.

There are multiple states that make the residents pay "Use Tax" on goods they buy online and bring into the state but most people never declare this to the state and don't pay it.

There was a federal law regarding charging sales tax on out of state electronic (online) purchases

Some FFL's try to charge sales tax on the value of guns they are transferring to try to stop buyers bringing stuff from out of state.

I am sure its just a clerical mistake in this case

Florida may have a reciprocal agreement with GA. Many companies charge Sales tax on out of state orders for some reason. Jon may have business ties to companies in GA also.

I did... and Emily emailed back faster than lightning.

She took it off and I am in for two stripped lowers.

Poor thing needs sleep, like Jon.

Thanks to you all.

That's excellent news, now you can get your two lowers and turn them around for $700/each on EE or Gun Broker.

I believe they won't be in until March. I ordered a couple at the last show and that was the word I got.
