They should have left off the texturing - people want the OG HK look.

I wouldn't call it texturing, more like ribbed, for her pleasure. Someone needs to buy one and give an evaluation of it.

QD holes and the texture.

I ordered one also, and the PSG style grip.
Will put it on my HK SG-1 barreled rifle. |

GSG got sued for their 22 clones. HK called it 'trade dress' infringement, as I recall. In response, GSG had to make their rifles look stupid.
I'm sure HK has good lawyers. I don't think anyone wants to fight that fight. |

Got mine. I really like them. Need to get my wood stock out and put it on. Right now its a mix up of colors.
These are built right. Cant flex them. Has some heft for all the bipod mounting area. Has a hollow cavity inside under the heat shield for air. Makes the grip feel right. Edit: These went right on super easy.

I was holding out for the green but the black looks great on your rifle. Now I don't know if I want to hold out or actually get a fore end while they are available.

Kinda worried these wont be around long. This is what all the PTR rifles should have. Really looks nice leaned up in the bedroom out of the safe. Looks more like the HK91 design. |

Got mine today. Out the box, kinda skeptical. Once mounted with bipod in place, not to bad. Appear to be well made. The more I handled and looked at the rifle the more I liked it. Would prefer an original wide handguard but since the rifle is a clone it doesn't really matter its way better than the skinny handguard that was on it. Overall nice handguard.

I just don’t like the “ribbed for her pleasure “ look, I have no freaking idea why they did that. Oh well, I guess it’s better than nothing for the guys that don’t already own an OG wide handguard…

The slim handguard gets so hot it's unshootable.
