Try the general firearms discussion. There's probably an M1A and M-14 forum here under armory as well.
That said, you only have two options I know of for an M-14 clone as of now, and that's Fulton Armory (very spendy) and Springfield (spendy). You might also find an old Norinco import or nice kit build if you look on the used market. Now I can't help but note that you said he carried it in Korea. Was he stationed there a time after the war? I assume you don't mean he used one in the Korea war because that ended in 1953 and the M-14 didn't exist until 1957. If he is a Korean war vet, you may have misheard him, he might want an M-1 Garand or M-1 Carbine. |

If you want the best of the best you want a Chinese M14 receiver built up by Ron Smith at Smith Enterprise, Inc.
I suggest a heel stamped Poly Tech receiver, maybe two

There were no M14's in the Korean war. Too Early. They may have had some in Korean garrisons durring the Vietnam war. ( Not likley) He's BS' ing you. JR |

Actually there were plenty of M-14s in POST-war Korea.

The 2nd and 7th Infantry Divisions based in the Republic of Korea were equipped with the M14 rifle until 1968. The 2nd Infantry Division phased in the M16A1 from late 1968 to May 1970. |

Are they better than the Forged LRBs? Just curious as I thought about having Ron build me one of his Crazy Horse SDMs using the LRB receiver. Sean |
