I see that the CMP has Lake city delinked M2 ammo for sale. Isn't machine gun ammo not as accurate as standard rifle ammo, or is it all the same? I will be shooting it out of my "new" CMP field grade Garand.
It costs the same as the Greek ammo, and I'd rather have the LC if its all the same out of an M1

M2 Ball is M2 Ball. All built to the same specs.

I got a case of it.

It shows tarnish where they were linked and some minor handling dents. Nothing I had to cull yet out of 140 rounds I used so far.

Edited to add; 1903 springfield gets 2 inch groups at 100 yards, M1 gets 2 to 2 1/2.

Some of the CMP LC M2 ammo will attract a magnet, which makes it taboo on certain ranges. Check will CMP before buying if this is an issue.

M1 ball is the one to be avoided in Garands, but as long as its M2 ball, you're good to go.

+1. Both the LC and Greek HXP from the CMP are great ammo. Can't go wrong with either.

It is an issue with some foriegn ammo but not with USGI. The issue I would really like to die is the questions about firing commerical ammo in the garands/m1a's and all the people who say I shot so and so rounds and nothing happened.
