I'm positive this is a dup topic, but I can't find the info.

I just got a CMP Garand and would like to run the serial number for the date of production. Where would I find such info?

It appears to be a SA in the 5.8 million serial number range, all SA parts, but generic wood. I am in the process of refinishing the wood.

No marks on the stock save a P underneath the wrist.

Pics to come. This is my first Garand

Sweet! Great link with great info.

Just got my CMP field grade Greek return yesterday.
SA 3.75 range = May 1945

It has a HRA trigger group, SA bolt. Barrell is marked SA xxxxx 12 52 MD34

The wood is pretty dinged up, but the metal still has great finish except for at the end of the barrell and the gas cylinder.

I'm really happy with it, and plan on prettying up the stock (too broke to buy a replacement).
