That stuff is corrosive, I'd bet it is KA marked stuff because PS ammo was not. There is a lot of stuff that is KA that is being sold as non corrosive or MILDLY corrosive. I would not bet my bore on it. If you do buy just take precautions with the bore, and gas system.

Century Arms has Korean M2 ball on M1 enbloc clips in bandoleers for .17 per round with a flat $12.50 shipping charge. It has boxer primed brass cases and is corrosive. I havefired about 200 rds of it throuh my Garand and it is pretty accurate stuff. (2 MOA @ 100 yrds benched and bagged)

It takes about 10 minutes to clean my Garand after I shoot this ammo.

How's the Greek ammo for quality?  The only experience I've had with Greek ammo was Olympic and it was terrible in my ARs.

Spooky

hows this stuff from SG? is it corrosive?

I don't have membership in a club affilitated with CMP (I'm working on it), so I need something for my "new" Garand in the meantime.

Federal's American Eagle brand can be found just about anywhere ammo is sold, and is within spec for the Garand.  As a bonus it is reasonably priced for current production non surplus ammo.
It has also shown very good accuracy in the three rifle calibers I have used (.223,.308 and 30-06).

This is good stuff, but unfortunately has been out of stock for quite some time.  No telling when they'll have more.

I always thought the Federal American Eagle in the red box that you can get anywhere was a little hot for the Garand. From what I've seen, the ballistics showed the muzzle velocity was 2900 fps. Did'nt the M2 stuff usually shoot in the range of 2700 to 2770 fps? If the Eagle stuff can be shot safely, I'm gonna get loads of that stuff for my Garand. It chronographs differently from what Federal makes solely for the CMP, but it is sure cheaper and more readily available than going thorugh CMP. It does good through my AR and is pretty accurate.

This is the same ammo that I buy from Century for a lower price and lower shipping costs. I have been pleased with it's performance in m Garand. (2 to 3 MOA)  It is corrosive.

I don't think it is!!!!, There are two different 150 gn american eagle, one at 2900 fps that is the stuff you normally find at walmart is too hot for the m1.  The other in similar packaging is made for the cmp is 2500-2600 fps.  Read the box before you buy.

Edited to add that I saw a listing for Korean M2 ball (Sportsman's Guide) that showed the velocity at 2900fps.  Standing by to be corrected!

You have to be in an affiliated club, AND shoot 50 rounds at a range or other event and get signed off on it.  There are other ways, such as being a vet, a FFL or C&R holder, etc.  to meet the requirements. You can find them on the CMP site.
My garand (first of many, I hope) was bought at a gun show.

I don't know if the shooting requirement is necessary to buy ammo, but membership is. I'm mailing in dues for my state rifle  and pistol association and GCA.
