M1 Garand and M1 Carbine C&R Eligible?

I have a friend who has a C&R FFL and was curious if the M1 Garand and/or the M1 Carbine are C&R eligible. If not, what are the requirements for a firearm to be C&R eligible?

They have to be over 50 years old or on the C&R list. I think both do qualify.

Both on the list as C&R (assuming USGI)

Thanks guys. Do they have to be made before a certian date? Obviously the newly manufactured "clones" of the M1 carbine (for example) don't qualify as C&R.

All USGI Garands and Carbines are on the list and C&R.

Angst is correct.

The must be genuine M1 Rifles or M1 Carbines, not copies or clones to qualify as C&R unless they're at least 50 years old. They're named C&R firearms. Firearms not on the list have to meet the 50 year rule.

So in the next decade or so, older semi-auto M14's and some of the older AR-15's are going to become C&R eligible?

There are maybe a dozen "semiautomatic" M14 rifles.
