I've seen some things out there for getting the right angle on the sear.

What do you recommend?

I have a few builds that need a little work.

Thanks!

I'd go with this.

I suggest the Cylinder and Slide kits.
You don't know if the parts in the gun now are tool steel or MIM.
The C&S kits are almost plug and play and the parts are high quaility tool steel so the trigger job will last.

Thanks guys, these kits are probably the way to go but I was hoping to do my own stoning of the components for fun and the experience.

I I have several low quality hammers and Sears to practice on!

Bob Marvel 1911 Sear Jig is all i have used. I have had great success with it.

It will only cut the sear primary and escape angles. You touch up the sear apex by hand.

It does not do anything with the hammer, but in my experience all that is needed if anything on a quality hammer has been to lightly stone the outside corners of the hooks where they may co.e in contact with the sear's primary angle.

Check out Brownells website and look over their offerings.

Yep.  Did just that.  Think I found a unit that will suit my needs for $49.

I highly recommend Ed brown.  He designed around the Military style sear jig.

Powers #1 jig with the 1911 insert
There’s an article on the Brownells website by weigand on how to do a 2.5 lbs trigger job using that jig

Another to consider is the Harrington design tru radius jig which gives you a rolling break

I've been using the Harrington for years, works well for me.

Haven't pulled the trigger yet.  Needed to get my other builds done before I moved.
