Been looking for a Japan made model 94 but they seem to be very difficult to find. I just want a plane jane 94?

Lots of 73's, 86's and 92's around but you are right...the 94's are kinda scarce

I picked up the non deluxe version of a Model 94 Trails End Takedown a few months ago in a local gun shop in SD.  It’s in .38-55, which I had not encountered in awhile. It was the 4th Model 94 made in 2022, so it had taken a little over a year from manufacture to sale.  

They are still out there, but if they are in .30-30, they fly right off the shelves.

At present Winchester is only making them in .30-30 and .38-55, with the exception of the tails end take down which is also being made in .450 Marlin.

Quality wise it isn’t quite at the same level fit and finish wise as my Uberti, but compares well to a 1979 Model 94 LF.

Cabela's used gun website had one a few days ago.
