If it helps anybody local to Huntsville, AL I would sell small amounts of 38/357 ammo or 38/357/44/45 lever action suitable reloading supplies.
Quantity is an open box or two of ammo, couple hundred primers, an open pound of powder, loose plinking bullets, etc.

I'm not looking to profit, prices would be non-panic prices.
Purpose is for you to be able to shoot your lever action, not for hoarding or reselling.

My problem is powder.  We have plenty of primers (small & large pistol), plenty of bullets and plenty of brass but we're down to about a quarter of a 1# bottle of Power Pistol and about the same amount of Universal.  I'd like to load some more .357 magnum and .45 Colt but I can't make myself use the last of the powder.

I've got a few boxes of 305 grn, 330 grn and maybe some others cast lead bullets for a .45-70 that I may end up trying to trade for some powder but I don't see a huge success rate in it.

What I refuse to do is buy any more ammo.  I had the opportunity to buy 4 boxes of Hornady 6.5 Grendel 123 grain SST the other day but I decided I'm just not going to do it.  Buying this hyper-inflated ammo as soon as it's available is just feeding the problem.  We need to stop buying it and let the market stabilize again.

Found some Hornady American Whitetail .30-30 locally for $24. I bought one third of their entire supply! That left two boxes for someone else to buy and put on Gunbroker.

They also had one box of Hammerdown .357 at $44. I didn’t buy it; wanted to research the round first.

Holy hell thats nuts!
If anybody needs 35/32 for your lever see my ammo for sale in EE and I give you big discount.

I broke in my new reloading table this weekend.  Box of subsonic 44 and almost 200 subsonic 357.  $300 at those prices!

Man am I glad I reload.  Check this out this add for 45-70 ammo as listed in Florida Gun Trader.  I highlighted the price in red.

"100 or 200 Rounds of Remington 405-Grain Soft Point (full pressure) Core-Lokt, Brass cased.

I have 200 total rounds, 10 boxes of 20 rounds per box. Will sell either 100 rounds or all 200. I don't want to break it up otherwise.

$3.50 per round, no trades, price is firm

Payment can be made by: Cash, Personal Check, Certified Bank Check, Venmo, Cashapp, Zelle, PayPal, Apple Pay, Facebook Pay or Bitcoin/Crypto."

My god...

I'm loading 148g 38 spcl wadcutters for a legit $6/box at the moment.

At $38-63/box...I'll just not shoot.

I agree with you there, especially at $63!

But, for those without a primer stash, $38 wad cutters may be their only option.

Weird. I tested them after posting. I had a similar thing happen when I tried following some links in the team ammo thread. I wonder if that’s something at Midway when the ammo is OOS.  I’m also not sure where the forty intermediate links are coming from; I’m going directly to the website, not using any other type of referral site.

The .357 is gone, this is the .44:

One link worked the other day. Evidently when they're out of stock Midway redirects you to a random product. Could also be the vigilink bullshit from Arfcom.

Over eight bucks a round....

You know, the conventional “wisdom” used to be to have some guns in common calibers, like .357 and .30-30, because you could always find that ammo in any gun store or small town hardware store.  But you couldn’t find calibers like 9mm and .223.

Apparently this was in stock on the 22nd, so it is definitely out there.

The only Hammer Down I have ever seen was the 45-70 on Federal's site. I ordered 3 boxes and haven't seen it since.

I didn't realize it was coming out for pistol chamberings.  I see that it's 170gr; anything else unique about these vs. a Buffalo Bore hard cast or a 180gr or 220 gr Winchester Silvertip?

I think they're geared more towards lever guns in .357 mag, .44 mag, and .45 Colt with ~18" barrels. I'd be interested to see how they perform in shorter barrels though.

Anyone got a line on any Hornady Leverevolution in a personal stash or at their LGS? Need some more in 45-70 and 30-30.

Only boxes I've been able to procure lately have been on the EE. Gun Broker is out of control, but looks like it might be dropping a bit.

AE or 240 grain SP Magtech to get started?
4 boxes (200 rounds total) is 5 bucks more for Magtech after shipping and taxes, though I could use active junky at PSA.

A RCBS single stage press and you make your own cheap ammo.  I picked up a 1952 94 this year and am loading plated bullets over Unique.  Really cheap to practice with and I can whip up some hunting rounds when needed.  Primers will be a pain but some day that will change.

This is why you hermits need to keep in touch with your neighbors.  This is a small portion of .30-30 ammo that was given to me.  Here I am pulling down reload samples:

All of these were loaded on a Lee Classic loader and the guy's quality control was excellent.

The brass sized with the Lee would not chamber well in a 336 Marlin, but chambered OK in a 92 Winchester.  I polished all of the cartridges before pulling them down because they were not cleaned prior to reloading and had patina. I resized all of the primed cases and restuffed them with powder from a fresh can.

This freebie included a can of IMR powder, CCI primers, a box of factory loads, and the Lee Classic Loader.  Needless to say, my neighbor gets free beer for life.

I don't see myself ever buying a box of factory .30-30 again in this lifetime.
