Just got this in the mail.  It was listed as New Old Stock LE/Mil Virtus upper.  The Geissele charging handle obviously isn’t stock.  What did I end up with?  How do I tell which gen?  Any help appreciated.  Thanks!

Looks like a 9" 300blk Virtus.

Upper

Eta: What is your barrel marked as and what does the gas regulator/block look like?

Def not a legacy since it doesn’t have keymod rail. So it’s a current gen Virtus.

Barrel says 300 BLK 1/5

Seller said “Virtus marked receiver, leo cut for auto sear trip, gen 1 barrel from what i can tell.”

Looks about right, the knobs for the gas regulator matches the legacy and it is a Virtus receiver.

So...  New Old Stock was a bit of a stretch?  It didn't come from the factory that way but was built from Virtus and legacy parts that way?  How do I determine if it is "LEO  cut"  or if that is a stretch too?
If I decide to swap barrels I will need to change barrel and bolt if they are Virtus not legacy, correct?  Any other issues I need to be concerned with?

I don't know if it's what they refer to as "LEO Cut", but the upper itself does look to be machined for auto sear clearance according to the pics.

Where did you get it? And for how much if I may ask? That G CH would fetch a pretty penny on GunBroker right now.

I put a low bid on a GB listing.  There weren't any pictures and the seller had around 100 positive feedback.  I figured if it really was LEO/Mil it would go for much more given the current climate. This was description:

"This appears to have the lightweight gen 1 barrel.

Information above was added on 4/5/2021 11:22:03 PM
Law Enforcement black Sig MCX virtus upper, latest generation. 300 blk 8" barrel, complete upper, bolt, carrier, and Sig adapter to use Ar15 lowers. This is upper only, for pistol build or SBR. I accept PayPal friends and family or you pay the upcharge, zelle, or PMO"

Of course, seller added top line info after I bid.  Got it for $1525.  The legacy barrel is a bit of a disappointment but the Geissele CH was a nice surprise.  I just realized it didn't come with the Sig adapter for standard lower.

Side note - I have a new KAC SR30 lower but can't stomach the thought of paying over 3k for the matching upper right now.  Will this mate up ok?  Ambi functions and trigger work?

I'm new here so still learning how the system works.  If you use @user it tags them?  I have read enough on the forum to know @coregon is the answer man.  What an incredible resource to the forum!  Just didn't want to bother him.  Thank you all for the info.

Looks like everyone here is taking care of you.

I’m looking at the pics on my phone, so take that into account.

Does appear to be a Virtus upper and Legacy barrel.  Nothing wrong with that, but your gas port holes in your handguard probably won’t lineup with the gas block positioning on the barrel - again, not a big deal to me, but YMMV.

To use a Virtus barrel you would need to change bolts to a tapered lug.

Upper should work just fine on your SR30 lower.  Depending on which trigger you want to use, you may need the Geissele firing pin latch.

The Geissele CH is a nice surprise and definitely a way you could recoup some funds.

Seems like you got a pretty good deal, given the state of the market.

@coregon Is there any truth to it being leo cut or was that BS?  Is the le/mil part any different other than being black? I am correct in assuming this is a Frankenstein of parts?  KAC factory 2 stage trigger need g part?  Thank you for your help.

Edit:
It came disassembled.  Just wanted to make sure this is correct bolt.  Appears to be marked S on firing pin lock.

Bolt is correct, looks like you have a non taper lugs on your bolt which is meant for a legacy barrel.

S is for MCX specific triggers as I understand it. You will need a G latch to use other triggers.
