I suspected my Dillon was throwing crazy powdered drops and I bought a Dillon Precision d-terminator scale.

After measuring 20 powder drops in a row, I clearly have a problem.

Im reloading 40 cal. Tolerance is 7.2-7.8 grains. Measuring 20 drops in a row, with no adjustments I got several loads as low as 6.9 and high as 7.9

Might have gotten two loads in a row that weighed the same.

Do I contact dillon? This is unsafe. I have a powder alarm set at 7.5 grains. Alarm never sounded on a 6.9 load or a 7.9 load.

Also using a baffle and cfe pistol

Do you have the pistol-caliber drum installed?   Turning down a rifle drum will produce results like you're seeing.  The pistol drum will have a smaller-diameter piston, so the powder column will be longer for a given charge than a rifle drum; the downside is that the capacity is limited.
