According to the Hodgdon manual, the Max. Charge for 147 is 4.2gr CFE Pistol , with a minimum OACL of 1.110"

Currently I'm at 4.2gr and 1.135", S&B SPP, Xtreme 147gr plated, medium crimp.

It works fine with my AR9 with or without suppressor.

Also cycles G19 without suppressor no problem.

But it won't run with AAC TiRant 45 at all, FTE. FTF, stovepipe.

What I've heard Hodgdon manuals are very conservative on the charge.  Should I bump up the charge, shorten the overall length or both.

I've got 5 lbs of this powder on hand, it works very well on my PCC's, don't want to switch to another powder if possible.

If change powder is the only way to go, I've got 10lbs of W231 for 45ACP.

Will TG be a better Choice?

Do other loads cycle your glock with a can? 4.2gr cfe p and 147gr are doing 950-1000fps. Not light at all.

So does that G19 work with that Suppressor with any other load? Do you have a booster(Nielson Device )?

I'm pretty sure you don't need to up the powder charge. Sounds like another issue.

Borrowed 3 rounds of WWB 115gr from another guy at the range before he left, they worked fine.

I have some leftover Remington 147gr, I'll give it a try later.

I shoot at a small private club, most of the time by myself.

Anyone near you have a smaller or different suppressor you could try to see if it functions?  To rule out your can or all of them.

It's a TiRant 45M in short configuration.

I also have a Rugged Obsdian 45, very similar, but I have it set up with 3-lug now for my PCC.

I will switch back to piston setup next time out there.

So you didn’t have the Neilson device in place? If so, was it greased/lubed?

My 9Osprey started to cause my G17 to choke when I noticed the booster was bone dry and caked with carbon. No way it was going to take up the weight of the can for a split second in that condition with the less powerful 147gr handloads.

Yep, piston and spring are bone dry, just checked.

Try some any ol' gun lube if you're crunched for time. Fire at least 10rds to get the lube distributed and in all the nooks and crannies.

If it's working after that, then go to something more viscous like white lithium grease. It will last longer than standard oil.

Lighter spring in the gun, ASAP. This is a simple problem to solve.

I have two Glock 19s, both bone stock, and have not needed to go to a lighter spring, and that’s shooting 3.4gr Titegroup and 147s through a can.  And that’s a pretty light load.  There’s another issue here and swapping the spring is covering it up

Granted, the 45M in short configuration is 7” and 11.3oz, my suppressor is 7.5” and 9.8oz....less than 2oz difference but I wonder if it’s enough to make a difference with reliable cycling?  Wouldn’t think so, especially with max loads

Need a faster powder for cleaner burn with suppressor. TG is good. Not saying it will cycle any better. Just saying you won’t be happy with CFE with suppressor.
