Anyone have experience with this in .223 / 556 loads? I'll be pushing only 55gr on the low end up to 62gr (SS109) rounds. Occasionally if I come across higher grains at

good fire  sale prices I may try them.  I see burn rate wish it seems to fall right betweeo the BLC2, CFE223 and then TAC, 2230 and H335 powders I see referenced by

people on here talking 223.

It is best used for heavier bullets.  While it will work for 55 grain bullets, you might not get good uniformity of velocity.  I've tried it 20 years ago for 65 grain Winchester PPs, wasn't impressed.



But for 75 + grain bullets, it is decent.  With 80 grain Sierra MKs, it is under 2" at 300 yards.

I got 24# of it coming since well...that's about all I could find in stock :-) Looks like it will work for both my 223 and 30-30.

Can't wait to try this load.

also picked up AC #7 for my 9mm / 10mm


AA-2520 is referred to as the 'Camp Perry' powder and was designed for the .308 Winchester cartridge.

It's a medium fast, double base, ball powder, so it should meter well .

They use it in their 223 Rem testing, but only up to the 69gr SMKs.  It's an older pamplet.

Careful.  24.4 grains behind an 80 grain Sierra did this to that old Federal American Eagle brass:







Yeah, the action was locked up tight.  The case head is bent due to forced extraction.  As in beat the carrier out with a brass drift.



Fractured the bolt axially in 3 places:







The 3 rounds fired before this were printing a tight 3/4" group.  At 300 yards.  Until the 4th shot destroyed the bolt and magazine.



I'll have to look around for a copy of the group I have stashed somewhere.

Was that too hot or was that case bad to begin with? Looks like head case failure.

Ill be using LC since I'm looking to load some ss109 to combat loads
