... Pretty exciting, to me at least
(Kinda cross-posted from Team, they just didn't seem to have much interest there)
... Between the NRA Convention in Phoenix a few weeks ago and the rising cost of shooting, I finally decided to start reloading rifle calibers. Just built a sturdy bench in an unused closet and stocked her up on supplies to begin loading .308 & .223 (a 1000 rounds of each to start).
Most my supplies are finally all in (waiting for some .308 brass from an ARFCOM member). To me it was fun setting all the tool changers and hard mounting the loaders, swager & case trimmer. (I have a Lee single-stage set up for .50 not shown)
Never really had a need to reload rifle rounds as most of us were buying it cheap and stacking it deep as
dpmmn always recommended - But times, they are a changing
Notes:
- I love the Dillon case separator, beats the ex-wife's old colander
- It was actually
much fun re-learning the system and process over again
- Returned the RCBS case trimmer, going with Dillon's version (here tomorrow)
- The new bench is sturdy as a rock
- So glad I bought thousands of large & small rifle primers years ago
- Learned quickly that Berdan primers don't decap in a Dillon
- Gonna get me an electronic powder scale, the balance beam is a PITA
First rifle batch ever off my 10 y/o RL550B ...
