I think Stphen suggested that Tango Down was going to reveal some SCAR goodies at SHOT. Well!!???
That's a start! Though I'm SBRing mine to CQC length, so that doesn't help so much. But thanks for the link!
Oh joy, another rail extender!
I could buy that then hang even MORE accessories off my rifle! Sweet! Two lights, three vertical grips... no, wait a vertical grip and two AFGs! Maybe two lasers... I would like to stick 3 or 4 bayonets on my rifle too. |
Well, if I'm not mistaken, they also have pics there of replacement side rails, in FDE, with QD sockets. I WANT those. :)

In one fell swoop TD made the scar go from "meh" to almost everything I could ever want in a 5.56 semi auto. If there was a way to throw in truly ambi controls it'd be there. |

Emailed TangoDown on this issue and got a resoponse quickly. They said basically they are trying to gauge how many units they should produce initially and we should have more info in about a month.
Well if any of them are reading.... put me down for the FDE side rails, the charging handle, and the AL latch.
Hey, thanks for that! I want the side rails, the latch, the charging handle and the sight.
Can't wait! C'mon Tango Down! I want to send you money! |
runor has it the side rails, front side and stock latch are in initial production. The other items are pending interest. If you want these things, email Tango Down and tell them.
All of it looks great. I love the side rails for sure!
On a side not anyone know if the Troy sights are out yet? |

I wish there was a product that integrated a rear QD swivel somehow...
Just curious... what is the weight savings on the new rails?
It says they're "lightweight"... but that doesnt mean they're lighter then the factory rails. |
Quoted: I wish there was a product that integrated a rear QD swivel somehow... The Vltor stock adaptor has one, but I PREFER the SCAR stock, so it's a no-sale for. I use a BFG UWL on one of the rear loops, and and QD attachment for the VCAS sling. |

The factory rails are injection molded plastic. The TD replacement rails are machined out of 7000 series billet aluminum and then type III hardcoat anodized to mil-spec. They are heavier than the factory rails. If I get a chance to pop mine off I'll get a weight comparison for you. Stephen |

Not bad at all (about the same area a Vltor or other stock would have it's QD cup). The rifle sits flat against me with a two point, no rolling to speak of, and shoulders well. Worked out great! |

I got tired of waiting from someone to bring something to market so I bought a VCAS and a UWL for the front. Sling problem solved for now. Rather have QD though. |

I'm not at home to pull out the SCAR. I thought about that as well. There would probably be enough room in the tail end of the lower. I just couldn't bring myself to drill a 1/2 inch hole in the lower receiver of my 17. The stock for some reason seemed a bit more "expendable" as I figured if it didn't pan out I would just toss the Vltor adapter (once it's available) on there, or find a stocker somewhere. |
i wonder if you could tig something to where they have the rear sling hoops.... I do understand not wanting to take the risk of drilling the lower. That would take some major guts
