Just wondering how short you could cut down an M2HB barrel and not have any issues??

Anyone got any pics of some with short barrels??

From a technical standpoint, the basic M2HB is a delayed-blowback recoil operated system with no external booster.  You should be able to run it with just a full chamber to support the cartridge, and maybe a heat/blast shield or firefighter's suit to protect you from the fireball.

Few years back at Knob Creek, someone on the line had a dual mount M2 set up with 10"bbls. I was walking thru the pole barn when he cut loose with that bad boy, and had to wander to the line to see what all the comotion was about. Talk about friggin loud!! DAMN!! They did not fir at the smae time in the mount, 1 then the other would fire, so it sounded like one, stupendously loud and FAST gun going off. It hurt my ears, and I had plugs, with muffs over top.

I've seen 1919 beltfeds with an 8-inch barrel... but never an M2.

Hey, someone's gotta be the first! Buy some Nomex and go for it!

A guy I know has a really short barrel probably around 8-10 inches on his ANM2..
That thing is a mean machine..

That was probably the self-proclaimed "Little Fat Guy", if he was set up at the far right side of the main firing line.  That guy has some seriously bad-ass toys and likes the "shorty" belt-feds.

Fortunately, Knob Creek is the weekend after this coming one, first one in April...

It's not a .50 but this has some photos of a 1919 with a shorty.  Scroll the first page...more photos throughout the page.

Here's a couple pics of George "Little Fat Guy" Christie's stubby 'lil flame-throwin' M2
LFG's M2 shorty.

This kid is about to have the time of his life.

Makin' noise
