I'm debating 16 vs 18 right now. I picked up a GMT-Halo and a 15" CMR rail. I'd like to have a 16" barrel but if it wont clear, I have no problem getting a 18".

It should fit just fine. A 15" rail on a 16" barrel will still have the entire muzzle device outside of the rail, and the GMT-Halo doesn't sit back beyond the BFA groove on an A2 flash hider.

Shouldn't be a problem. As mentioned, the 15'' handgaurd will leave all of the threads + half an inch or so of barrel exposed.
