This is with the front cap tightened all the way down, anymore and the end cap starts to move out of the groves.

Mine doesn't have it. Are the two pieces of sheet metal lined up correctly on the core? Looks like they might have slid back when you pushed the core in.

I would also recommend looking at the alignment of the half pipes. There should be no gap.

I think we are talking about the same thing. It looks like the half pipes slipped when he put the assembly into the tube. It's happened to me a couple times but I caught it before trying the thread the cap on.

Not calling you out man but that picture couldn't me more out of focus and blurry. Can you take another one that is in focus?

But like others said- check the half shells.
