I would really like to get a 50 cal of some type.  I probably won't shoot it very much...who makes a good cheap 50?  Who makes the cheapest?

Does anyone make a kit form or something like that?

OH...and I am serious..none of this birdman weapons crap..  okay..thanks!

Cheap and .50 cal are two words you will never see in the same sentance.

Since this is a one shot bolt gun...would a peson be better off getting one of those Caliban legal lowers..the kind that are one shot or have a fixed 10 round mag...basically this would be just for looks..or does the mag well serve some purpose on this rifle?

All these are meant to use AR lowers. This allows you to get into a 50 cheaply (if you already own a AR15). And no, the mag well serves no purpose.

Go to the Ferret site and you can view the DPMS mag-less lower...

Go to the library and pick up the Guns and Ammo from about three months ago. They review and shoot several fifty's. I think the cheapest one (that also produced some of the best groups) was called a Serbu (????). The most expensive one was Barret. The most dissapointing due to lousy trigger was Armalite (but, had the most effective brake).

If you got any machining practice, shotgun news had a article about how to make your own.

Thought about it at one point.

I shoot my Bfg at leat twice a month........
Its addicative....steel plates...car motors...
propane tanks........very fun...
Best group so far at 1000 yds is 24 inches.....
this is wiht surplus ammo.....handloads will suck it in to about 10-15" if I do my part.

Where are you located.....50 shooters will let you shoot theirs to help you decide.....
I have proudly converted 3 so far!!!!!!

All the info you want is on

Hey everybody, my intel tells me that medcop actually works for Diane Feinstein's office.  He's (actually it's a she) is gathering intel on fifty cals to place in legislation to ban them.  Don't tell him (her) shit; she's a dirtbag just looking to ban our second amendment rights.  She's gonnna be asking questions about shotguns next.

Sitting Bull,

I was also thinking about getting one of those shotgun things...do you have a good source on the street where one could purchase such a thing?  I hear they have a round for them that contains hundreds of tiny pellets (I think I heard it was called #8 shot?)...that sounds really dangerous!

Well anyway...thanks for the info...and I knew someone would post the birdman 50..hehehe

Medcop--what is wrong with Birdman's stuff?  Here is a pic from a serious ad for his stuff:

$3500 + S & H and it can be yours--I doubt you would ever find another like it.

The Ferrett looks promising:

About $1900 for an upper for your AR.
