Really itching for a .308, aren't you?

I can't say I blame you, but let me ask you this, what do you have already?  If the CAV15 is your only AR15 type weapon, I'd stick with it and get an upper to complete it.

My vote goes to buying the AR upper.

I am confused here. The lower you have is for a 5.56 or .308?

If you don't have an AR which kind of confuses me being your post count is so high on this site. I would suggest that you do the AR whatever caliber the lower is in.

finish the cav-15 with a upper so you can have a complete ar. can't go wrong with that.

sorry to be confusing, shaggys "itching for 308" comment comes from a list on my posts he has contributed to that involved 308s. the cav is a 5.56. as for my embarrasingly high post count for not having an ar............i have no excuse

Well then it is time to remedy that problem I think. Go for the AR.

Matt -

Yeah, I'd finish off the CAV15 first; then if you want a .308, sell off the SKS and maybe a .22 for an Imbel FAL or CETME.  The CETME is an HK clone (actually the HK was developed from the CETME), they can be had for $400-500 NIB and I've heard pretty good things about the CETMEs.

Just my $0.02

the truth is, i could never part with my .22s. i love em too much. in fact, i would consider selling the SKS for a dedicated .22 upper. either that or maybe for a AK. but i like the idea of squirell hunting with a .22 ar.
