The *current production* 9mm, 40, and .357 frames are all identical to eachother in the same size category (17/22/31, 19/23/32, etc.).  The exact same part number and all that.

Putting a 9mm slide/barrel on a .40 frame should be fine.  The only real problem would be putting a .40 or .357 slide on one of the older generation 9mm frames.  I don't remember the source where I heard that, but it supposedly came straight from Smyrna.

Do you have to change the extractor also because the case heads are different sizes?

The extractor is in the slide, not the frame.

I believe that Oly makes a 9mm barrel that is supposed to work in a .40/.357 frame without changing any other parts.

I believe Mr. bunghole is trying to refer to the ejector, which IS on the frame.

Looking over the Glocks show the ejector of the nines are slightly curved inward toward the center of the weapon, whereas the .40s are straighter.

I really don't know if it is safe to do this or if the newest of the new Glock frames have the same ejector on the frame.

anyone?

A related post, don't mean to hi-jack your thread but, if you have a Model 23, and a 27 can you put the longer barrel on the 27 and keep the 27 slide in place???? I would think it would work but not sure.

Correct, I have an email from some guy there attesting to this, their 9mm barrel has the same o.d. as the stock .40 barrel so it fits snug in the slide at the front....the front...where the damn bushing is supposed to be I dunno what to call it. Also says stock .40 extractor and ejector will work MOST of the time.

I even had some people on glocktalk tell me that I could use the same mags, WRONG at least for me anyway out of 3 low-capacity fml d.f mags and 1 normal (preban) n.d.f. fml the feed lips were way to wide to hold 9mm. still havent got my barrel yet though.

Up above it was mentioned that the slides were all the same, I don't believe that is correct.  .40/.357S barrels will not fit in the 9mm variants.

Where did anybody say that the slides are the same?
