Hi... I am new to AR-15's but not this site. Just bought my first... a Colt ar-15 pre-ban Sporter Match H-bar w/ 20", 1:7 the other day.
Have many questions but my first is about the front connection of the lower to upper. I have a connection that has a screw on both sides. Alot I've seen have either a pin or screw on one side...what do I have? Is it a newer or older style? Can I convert to a pin type arrangement? I'm thinking of buying a pre-ban 16" lightweight 1:9 upper but do I have to watch about this connection type?
I know I'm ramblin' but I also was wondering about a Simmons Red-Dot for just fun/Quick site accusition potential.
Please... I don't need a speech about why do you buy a gun like this and put a cheap scope on it. I'm not into competition shooting...yet.
Thanks - gunsite
