I had one on a 20" AR back in the early 80's. I sold the AR sadly, with the DTA milbrake on it. I seem to recall that it was the same diameter as an A1 suppressor and was indexed by the supplied parkerized nut. If this is so, it would not be legal for a postban. I have not been able to locate another one, or find any information as to DTA still being around.

If you promise not to call me an "old timer,"  I'll tell you where to find them.

You can find them at:www.shooterstore.com/acb/Directory.cfm?st=0&st2=0&st3=0&CATID=494&DID=90  Pick "Flash Hiders/Muzzle Brakes"  pages 2 and 3.  DPMS lists them in their on-line catalog.

They have both a muzzle brake and flash suppressor function.

The company that made them advertised them in 1991 as being a combined Flash Hider and Muzzle Brake.

So, the answer is no.

They're double-damned.  They qualify as grenade launchers, too.

thanks guys,
i had an upper at the range a couple of weeks ago with a dta mil-brake,had some one spot for me to see if the muzzle flash was noticable.
they actually said it had less flash than an a1 fs.
i figured it wasn't pb legal after that, works great as a muzzle brake.
little carbine wasn't jumping at all with q3131.

Oh Yeah! Got one of those on my SAR8(hk91 clone).  Works like a champ.  Only thing is that it actually adds another couple inches to the overall lenght.
