It is a nice clean V24 issued in 1942 that my neighbor actually gave me from her husbands collection. The problem I have is...I don't know if it's a 7MM or an 8MM....how can I identify the caliber with no indication on the barrel or any other caliber markings?

Who was it issued to in 1942?

The markings on the receiver rail and ring will speak volumes.....

Oh.....the diameter of a Marlboro filter is about .310"........if it fits loosely in the bore it's probably an 8mm (.323"), if it's really tight, probably a 7mm (.275")......
