Seems like it took for ever for a fair and reasonable price of these to come back to earth.

Wonder if its a trend. Steyr augs have dropped to 2700.

NOW only if SIG 556's will drop to 900. and SP89-s will drop back to 3300. And XCR's sell for 1100 bucks.

I'm sorry, but from what you posted its difficult to see who your source is.  Who exactly is going to be selling them for this price?

He's talking about these on Sturmgewehr.

www.sturmgewehr.com/webBBS/semi4sale.cgi?read=174319

And the PS90 for $1099!

www.sturmgewehr.com/webBBS/semi4sale.cgi?read=173995

My understanding is that FNH ran a special for about a week.

Get em while you can, I don't think theyre going to stay at this price for long.

I have purchased from him, Gordon Miller, with no problems. He has a LONG track record of good service.

Hope this helps.

they've had the only bullpups on the block for a while. with the two AUG clones coming out, clones of guns that are VERY highly sought-after, i suspect they will see a sharp decline in sales if they don't do something with the price.

i was also going o pick up an FS2000, but with the AXR coming out, i have a hard time justifying an FS2000.

i think that the aug is a better overall design(barrel swaps) but i think that its a pretty nice 5.56 carbine.

most importantly i really like what FN does for the civilian market(unlike HK) and wish to support them for making the decision to sell us the PS90,SCAR's and FS2000.

each rifle has its nich and while not the end all of rifles, each is evil and black and will not be avilible with hitlery in office

I don't see the FS2000 ever coming down to anything less than $1,200.

My guess is that sometime next year (provided a Republican beats Hillary) the rifle will probably stablize at around $1,500 for awhile give or take $100.

Nice pipe dream.
Even AK's are commonly in the $500-$1000 range.  This recent price break is a HUGE benefit to the gun community.
I paid $1940 shipped for mine when they first came out, and still have no regrets!

Yeah, and AKs are only that low because WASRs are holding the entire market down and some parts kits are still available.

Give it another year with the BATFE barrel ban in place and even basic AKs are going to be approaching the price of AR15s.  Rare configurations will be approaching the current price of the FS2000.  Mark my words, I've already built a couple of Krinkovs that were over $1200 just in the cost of parts, never mind what the customer actually paid including labor.

Look for a slow steady decline in prices, before the shot show. Don't forget the shot show is the announcement of all the price increases for the upcoming year. In the meantime all it will take is one smidgen of Paranoia and watch the prices climb the ladder.
That's the issue here, no Paranoia. ( Silence ) What does it mean for us?

We're approaching market saturation, both with WASR's and higher priced exotic rifles.  Seriously, how big is the market for low-end AK's?  People are also being more selective on what kind of high end toy they buy, since there are a lot more options than even a year ago.

it's not only that.  Cheap demilled Romy kit+DCI receiver allows very high quality AK to be built very cheaply along with wider and more inexpensive supply of 922(r) compliant US made parts by Tapco and others.

I purchased one of the FS2000's off of Sturm. He was selling them to get them out of his inventory. I don't know if there was a sale from FN or what.
Mine should show up today or tomorrow.

If the price on the FS2000 is going down how do you justify the AXR or any AUG clone at $2K?

WTF, PLEASE POST A LINK TO A $1599 FS2000, I DON'T SEE ANY AT THAT PRICE. MUST OF BEEN ONLY A FEW FOR SALE AT THAT PRICE. STUPID THAT SOMEONE SAYS PRICES ARE FINALY DROPPING BASED ON ONE SELLER.

I could buy one as an investment to resell, but I don't know if I could make myself sell it so I'd be stuck $1700 short on budget.  Not good.

You don't.  And you surely can't justify any of the three when the SCAR comes out in Spring of 08 (that is just around the corner).

Another thing is they are planning to release the euro version of the FS2000 in the states within the next 2-3 months or so which has the built-in scope instead of the upper rail. I'm sure people will be dumping the previous FS2000s to get those as they are more authentic to the military one than the current ones for sale..

Last I checked the SCAR is not a bullpup, so that's kind of an apples to oranges comparison...  Get what you like.

Yeah the SCAR is not even on the radar. Who knows if we as civies will even get to FF one.

But we're talking FS2000 here, not SCAR.

Oh boy, not to rip on FS2000 folks, but I can justify that extra $500 for the AXR and the STG 556 in a lot of ways.   Heck, you get the Last Round Bolt Hold Open, the drop free mags, the quick change barrel, nicer rail options, trigger tammers available, transparent polymer mags (you can't use PMAGs with the FS2000). a slimmer more ergonomic rifle, and a platform actually used by more than Slovania.  Shoot seems like all those additional options are worth the extra $500.00.  I love the FS2000, but it will always be to me a rifle that could have been a heck of a lot better with a little more effort.

The SCAR isn't a bullpup so its a different beast.  We wont see the SCAR hit FFLs until around Fall 2008 and thats IF everything goes to plan and works out well for us as civilians. The AUG choices will all be available much sooner.

I only consider rifles that are available and reliable . Which counts the two new AUG clones out.

But going back to the FS2000. Yes it is not the greatest rifle, but as the whole point of this thread was, i=it might be coming down in price finally. Heck I remember seeing $3K on gun broker for some new ones, and some pirate gun stores still expect $2300+ for one.. Good to see the pricing start to hit $2K and under for new ones.

Well you're making assumption based on no real information for the most part.

The second American rifle based on the AUG by TPDUSA has yet to be sold so to say it has reliability problems is jumping the gun.  While the MSAR STG 556 has had reliability issues they have recalled those rifles and are fixing the problem.  If I recall the FS2000s had to be recalled over trigger issues and the full auto fire that was resulting from them and I have seen reliability issues posted by FS2000 folks.

I don't want to get into a discussion about this much, but if you read what I said, you'd notice I said 'avaliable and reliable'. The TPD is not available, the MSAR is not reliable. So where exactly am I so uninformed? Please keep incorect attempts at correcting people off any and all threads. Thanks.

Yeah same here. I was going to get one when they came out, but after handling and shooting my buddy's, it could not out shoot or feel as comfy in my arms as my AR or
my Steyr Aug clone I built does, so my wallet happily closed up.
