I know someone made one a few years back. I have determined that I want one. I have searched high and low (can you really search the internet high and low?) and I cannot find any info at all on who made them, when, cost, ect ect. I have seen one for sale in the last year or so and it was 8500 dollars, guy claimed it was FN built but I don't think I would believe that.
Any help from the collective wisdom and resources of AR15.com would be much appreciated.

I would pay 8500 dollars for a SAW before I would pay that for one of those damn M60s on the USORD site. At least I know I can take care of the SAW and keep it running.
On the otherhand...a 60 for the roll bar of my Tacoma (as seen in mutiple pics of spec ops rigs in the 'Stan) would be inviting. ETA: Looks like a FN built SAW for military/law enforcement sales runs under $6000 new.

I should offer them 5k on this used one.

Ummm...I could squeeze off single and double rounds without a problem on my issued SAW just fine. Why make one that is semi auto (ETA for the military) when a SAW gunner with little or no experiance can already use it as such?

I think I saw a SAW in a shotgun news magazine for sale one time.

Full auto, advertised price, $75,000 .. wham bam, no thank ya mam.hug.gif

Some of us can't.

Some of us can't afford a semi M249 either.

I dunno, in the world of semi unlimited funds I think if I had the choice I'd take a semi M60 over a semi M249. It's nice that it uses 5.56mm (like half my rifles do), but if you're going to reduce the rate of fire, you might as well take the bigger round.

I wouldn't turn down tiehr though.

The ones that go for $75K are dealer pre-samples, only available to Class 3 dealers (SOT) and can be kept if they drop their SOT.

Transferrables (for me and you) are going for $125K-$150K and there are only a hand-full available.
