My list:

1)AR-Real easy to make and maintain near bolt gun accuracy, though reliability MAY suffer.
2)M1A-Need to use high dollar scope mount and good bedding to ensure accuracy.
The G-3 and FAL are weapons I've just plinked with (other folks setups), but from what I've seen they GENERALLY cannot acheive the accuracy of the AR or M1A.  Scope mounting options are much easier than the M1A though for both rifles.  HTH

AR-10 tops the cake, all things being equal.

In "Life After Doomsday," which is pretty dated by now, the accuracy of the HK91 (civilian G3) is praised -- something like 3/8" three-shot groups at 100 yds.  That's why I've had the impression that G3 ranks at the top in accuracy.  There's also some verbiage in various places about delayed blowback being inherently more accurate than a gas system, but I couldn't really explain why.

So far I'm impressed with my SEBR AR10.  If _I_ can get 4" groups at 100 yards with my aimpoint red dot, poor form and caffeine-riddled body using surplus ammo and general lack of rifle skills, then a real shooter should be able to do pretty well with it.

I gotta say that I have been extremely surprised by my out-of-the-box AR10A2.  Irons and Aimpoint sitting with bipod will keep groups inside two inches with several holes touching (and my eyes aren't very good).  With a 10x optic, prone and bipod I have several groups under 1/2" at 100 yards.

My rifle is very capable.  I wish I was as good a shot as my rifle is capable.

Good Luck
