Sukebe beat me. Yes, an M7 will work. I have a 590, and the bayonet adds an extra "Don't screw with me look". I like it.

Either an M7 or M9 will fit, just like on an AR.

I bought an M7 bayonet only to find that it didn't fit. Sold it, bought another, and it fit fine. I can't explain it; maybe mine was fucked up.
