To what degree does the fit between an AR upper and lower affect accuracy? I've read elsewhere that it's not a consideration, however I notice that RRA DCM rifles have matched uppers and lowers and they also sell stripped matched sets.

It shouldn't at all.  The accuracy is in the upper only.  Although I have an AR that the lower is really loose from the upper and I can feel it shifting when I tense up.  Once it settles it is one of my more accurate ARs.  They make alittle rubber thing (name escapes me now) to help with this problem---I want to say a  Gapper?
