Quoted: Whoa hold on there! I'm on your team man! Why are you slamming me? No way in hell am I a socialistic democrat pinko. You are right, I am not familiar with the details of the gun laws, and I am just asking for help.
I'll tell you who gave me that advice. My friend's dad owns a bunch of rifles including two AR-15s. I've fired the AR several times now and I am interested in owning one of my own. I asked him how I might be able to get one and he told me to either go to a gunshow and get one with the grip sawed off or go to nevada where my parents live.
I'm sorry! I'm just trying to learn here. I thought I'd ask you guys. Believe me I hate it here and I will probably move. I cant understand why you slammed me after asking so politely?
Can anyone else give some friendly advice without being so rude?
Thanks! - Stephen

The FAB10 is the ONLY option I know of.
You can read info on California's various (pointless & uesless) firearms laws
hereI apologize if we seems rude but the question made mention of things which are illegal and many are leary.
There is NOTHING that you can do to alter an AR-15 type of fire arm to make it legal. The FAB10 is the only exception because it cannot accept detachable magazines, has a built-in magazine which can only accept 10 rounds.
If it could hold more than 10 rounds, it would be illegal and if it could accept detachable magazines, it would be illegal as well.
It is illegal to purchase an AR-15 type of firearm and import it into the state. It is also illegal to buy one within the state.
All AR's had to registered and are CANNOT be transferred (no one can sell you one no matter what the circumstances are).
All-in-all, the FAB-10 while not perfect is a viable oprion.
