Well I've been seriously thinking of gettin an AR and was just wondering what ya'll shot around here. If you have some pictures of your guns, lets see 'em!

Colt SP2 lower, Bushmaster 16" M4A3 upper, Colt M4 handguards, ARMS #38S-EX swan sleeve with ARMS #40 flip-up sight. This upper is now on a preban Bushmaster lower, and the Colt lower is mated to it's original 20" A1 upper. |

FALARAK,
Is that a RRA Varmint on the bottom? If so, how do you like it? I've been thinking of getting an upper myself. Does the gas block and FF tube come off easily? I wanted to replace it with a KAC FF. Here's one of my babies... This is the most recent pic I have, but picture it minus the Reflex replaced with a ACOG TA11, and a bowflage treatment and you have my current setup. |
|
Well.... what can I say... it was cheap. They are about the lowest cost varmint upper around. I am "satisfied". Not thrilled, but I am still new to accurate shooting, and AR's in general, so it stillmight just be me... or the scope... or??? I get reliable sub MOA at 100. Typically .75 on a REALLY good day, with right on 1" being more typical. I did manage ONCE to shoot a 3 shot ragged hole with the 52gr. At 200, I open up a bit, 2", and as bad as 3" However, all I have shot thru it is 52gr and 68gr Blue box black hills. I dont reload, and am told that this is the only way to truly know it's full potential. Been meaning to try some Fed GM in it, for the 69gr. Hear they work a little better.
I dunno. The gas block is held on with set screws... so cant be too hard. Never had the FF off. Hell, if you are gonna do all that, I would get a real "known" barrel, and build one from scratch. |

Ahh, took another look... just a full length FF.
What is the benefit of that? |

Thanks for the heads up, I'm still looking around, but as you said, the RRA is one of the most affordable varmint guns out there. I thought the bbl was a Wilson? Anyway, I am also considering building my own. I figure the KAC FF RAS will stay with me for a long time, even if I ditch the rifle, so it's worthwhile accessory for me. |

It went to a good home a few months back. I was selling a lot of stuff to round up $$ for my house downpayment.
CM2037, all steel. 37mm. |

The stock on the middle rifle is from ACE LTD. Do a search in general firearms discussion, you'll find more info. 3 of the other ones are CAV-15s, from www.cavalryarms.com. The stock and pistol grip are integral to the receiver, which is made from Glass-Filled Nylon 6! Mine have been shortened from their original length, which is now a factory option... |
