I bet they will let you shoot @ the match but you wouldn't be counted for competition. If you are trying to qualify to get a garand or 03 then you are probably ok. The trick is go shoot. You will meet a lot of nice folks. I am reading into the question based on your subject line. Most of the people running matches are trying to recruit new shooters. That's what the CMP is all about. I suck, but have a great time. And every time I go out, I pick up a new trick or 2 and my scores are getting better.
