It's a nearly new Express Magnum 870 Synthetic-maybe 100 rounds through it total(bought lightly used, so warranty is out). Clean, and with a new and strong magazine tube spring. I have replaced the safety with a larger after market one, and added a side saddle, but I don't think therse are causing the problems...
Last trip[ to the range, it refused to cycle any of the ammo I gave it-it was still easy to load, easy to cycle, but the rounds weren't coming back past the "stops" at the beginning of the magazine tube. Once I pushed either one of the shell stops to the side, the round pooped right out into the action...but working that action wasn't moving the shell stops.
I field stripped it, and couldn't find anything that looked terriblty amiss-but then I guessing that whatever part(s) are actuated when the rails reach the rear, to release the two ammo stops and allow the ammo to feed from the tube, isn't working. I'm just not sure what I'm looking for...
Anyone have any bright ideas of what to check before, while I've got it apart? I really would hate to have to spend money to fix it if this is something obvious I might be able to handle on my own.
Thanks, guys.
