Just curious if anyone has used this stuff on barrels and receivers?

Also if you have used the Plasti-Dip on your fore ends for more traction. ? It looks pretty cool, but wasn't sure about durability.

Yes, I know people who have used it on barrels.  

The Duplicolor Ceramic (header) sprays tend to work at least as well.  Make sure you do good surface prep, preheat, spray multiple light coats, and get it nice and hot after firing.

If you do that, it should hold up pretty well.
