If you wanted a NOD for observation purposes only, you are not going to weapon or headmount it, which do you think is better?  What are the pros and cons of each?

Depends on where I lived. As well how was I going to be observing? Will you be outside to observe or looking through a window?

Not to advertise my own post but I would start here so you at least get an idea on where NVD's dont work. Or at least where they start to run into limitations which of course can be resolved with IR flashlights.
