In my AO M48s are hard movers.....M91/30 refurbs are selling at $399.00 at a steady clip.
Hell one LGS has a nice Yugo K98 refurb for under $400.00 and it's been sitting for a month or better. They have M48s for around the same price that have been sitting for months. Call it a wash price-wise. |

I agree with 1sRelic. They are about the same value but the Mauser is a slow seller and harder to move. I would not make the trade for that reason alone. Mosins have much better ammo availability

Agreed with the above. Value-wise, I think they're close, but the M48 really doesn't have the history that the Mosin-Nagant does.
I wouldn't make the trade, because I'd rather have the MN you describe than the M48. I WOULD trade the Yugo for the MN, however. I like my M48A, it's a nice rifle. It just doesn't "speak" to me, though. |

Interesting. Mosin Nagants don't seem to be moving around here. An LGS in my area has had a few 91/30s, one or two 91/59s and M44s at $299-349 for a couple of months now.

I would keep the Mosin based on history.
The Yugo just is a well made k98 with a limited history. Then again I don’t own a Mosin and have several German K98s. Closest I have is a Sako M39. |

There are far less M48s than 91/30s. In this case it comes down to the rifle. Some 91/30s are dogs and can’t hit the broad side of a barn even if they look nice. Most M48s were unused and shoot well.

It would depend on the receiver tang date for me.
I got a 1938 dated barrel shank Tula hex with a 1919 tang date. They aren't very common because of the revolution. |
