Been wanting one of these forevor. Picked this thing up at a gunshow today. 80$ out the door. Came with Rifle, unfired by the new owner, still cosmo'd action, Sling, Muzzle cap, box of the Swiss surplus match grade ammo, and soldier nametag.

All matching parts.

I'm quite happy

If you think you like it now wait until you shoot it.  You're going to love it!

The reason I bought one, was because I made the mistake of shooting one

Holy crap!  You got a heck of nice gun.  $80.00???  Just in case you don't know it, you hit a BINGO on that gun.  Most -not some - MOST people have paid a lot more for a lot less of a K-31.  Good for you.  Enjoy, you got yourself a real beauty.

GP11 is still widely available.  Accept nothing less.

Nice. I shot mine at our recent classic battle rifle match. After I shot it with almost semi-auto speed and no malfunctions, I had at least 5 speparate people ask me, "what is that?" "is it expensive" etc. etc.

Sweet shooters.

Great another one gets the the swiss flu.

Can't be cured now, ya just need to get a walnut to even out the feel.

Now you will have a craving for gp100 and will act like a crack head to feed it.

Ya lucky dog, now go shoot it!

Thanks for all the compliments. It quickly became my favorite C&R. I'm sad to say I even like it better than my Mosin M38, which I thought wasn't possible lol.

Sadly no range report coming for quite some time. My gun range is near my college campus and I'm at home for the summer, so I won't be (and haven't been) shooting for quite some time.

$80 is a very good price for that rifle,  now you need to buy lots of GP11 to feed it properly.

I hate you.

Yup, you got a pretty good deal there, looks like a very clean K-31!

Anyone got a good source for the GP11 ammo?

Good prices with low shipping costs to west coast?

Century has about the lowest shipping costs.  There aren't 'any.  They have $12.50 small order charge for orders under $500.

They require an 03FFL to order through them though don't they??

Wish the ATF would hurry up and get me my license

Great deal! Is there a soldier's tag under the buttplate?

Well there was a tag, but it's an arsenal tag I found out.

Was held at the Swiss Arsenal in Zurich.

Prolly explains why the rifle is in good condition because it most likely spent most of it's life in a rack. It was made in 1947.

While I'm not complaining, I am a little bummed that I can't write a soldier to ask about his particular history with the gun.

Guess I'll have to get another one

Thanks alot for posting about your K31! I am about to try and get one from my local shop.

They have not quoted a price for me but I am wondering how much I should expect to pay for a K31 from a shop.

I expect them to mark it up a bit, but does anyone know how much I SHOULD pay?

I am going to start my own thread to ask this question, dont want to hijack the OP.

Could buy one from AIM for like 119$ handpicked + shipping.

Get it transferred to your FFL for their fee, and walk out with a new rifle

Goodluck. These are sweet rifles. I had no idea how awesome they were till a friend let me shoot his. After that I was hooked.

Darn you.

Darn you all.

I was doing so well...I really was. I had managed to resist all sorts of temptation and only make one C&R purchase, and then you have to go and post this.

Now thanks to you people AIM is shipping me a hand picked K31. And darn it if one of their new Yugo SKS rifles didn't find its way into my shopping cart too.

Posting stuff like this is worse than offering scotch to an alcoholic.

I usually get mine from MidwayUSA, it's $20.49 per 60 with your dealer discount, and their shipping has always been very reasonable for me. Of course, I'm alot closer to them then the West Coast.

Also try AIM Surplus, they've always treated me well, I've bought almost all of my C&R rifles from them.
