Go to milsurpshooter.net. You need to register. Go to the sub forum "Darrell's Scout Mounts", there should be a big link near the top. You'll find all the info you need there.

I've heard that some use pistol scopes, but I found that an IER (intermediate eye relief) scope works best. Mine is a Leupold M8 fixed power (I think it's 1.75X). Works great!
Here's my M38 with that setup.

yep pistol scope will work fine, what are you mounting it to? another option would be the S&K mount its around the same price and comes with the rings.

I enjoy mine! Get very low rings, and seriously consider variableX for anything over 2.5x, as the fwd nature already narrows the field of view. My beater 'concept testing' NCStar has not died yet, but it will...
