I am at the process of finishing the finish as they say and have the option of doing a gloss, medium gloss or dull/matt finish.

I believe the dull/matt finish would be more appropriate.

Would you say that is correct?

yeah the plain matte black is probably more correct, but since it's not an original finish and probably won't be passed off as original you might do gloss black on something to test and see if you like that better.

I've seen some RC's redone in dark parkerizing and it looked ok... I've also seen one (that my Dad owns right now) that was redone in gloss black and it looks amazing.

Just test on some spare mags or something and see what you like best.

Are you talking about the metal or the stock?

The stock should be plain ol BLO (boiled linseed oil)...the finish on metal depends on the date of manufacture...pre-war were typical high quality high polish blue. Wartime to mid war were a duller less well polished blue...late war ranged from unfinished to park to sloppily done hurried blue...
