I picked up my Arisaka today. It is a Type 99 short rifle. The front barrel band matches the receiver, the bolt does not but is all matcheing to itself (firing pin, extractor). The bluing is very good, the wood is very good, it has a steel buttplate and the aircraft wings on the rear sight.
It is a series 5 made in the Nagoya Arsenal.

Now, I gotta scrounge ammo!
