Would you spend $50 on a C&R rifle that you knew you couldn't get ammo for?

The rifle in question is a 7.35mm Carcano rifle. Its in great shape (for a WWII Italian Army Rifle) that only needs to be cleaned up but no other damage.

I can obtain dies and reloading supplies to make ammo if I really wanted to but I was just curious if anyone else would have bought this rifle.

I only bought it to go with my 6.5mm Carcano Carbine.

Anybody have any 7.35mm Carcano ammo lying around you want to sell?

With a 7.35 and a 6.5 carcano you are in accordance with the traditional arfcom "Get both" credo.
Carry on....

Hey!

Of course...in at least good condition the rifle could be "handed down" in the future. Makes a great conversation piece! Like mentioned previously you can reload if necessary. Clean it up and hang it on the wall! I spend more than that on dinner for two! Good deal!

Its always reassuring to hear others would have spent the same money I did.

I do reload now so I will have to keep a look out for some second hand dies for that caliber. Maybe I'll get lucky at the next gun show.

I can see the value of this rifle to a collector, but if I can't shoot it I wouldn't be interested.

i picked up a double rifle, a .577 snider that some dumy thought was a double shotgun for 300 bucks, only problem, ammo ain't easy to find, i did find some at a gunshow a few years back,  so i took this brute for a test drive. Holy Crap!, it feels like it could kill an elaphant on BOTH ends of that damn thing! i like the gun , and i shoot it VERY rarely (once a decade, or when ever a bengal tiger invades my flower garden..., which ever comes first) still i woulden't sell it, i know it's very valublue. but i like it too much!

sure
and cabela's has ammo on page 435 of the fall master catalog
I'll look for it on the website

if the link doesn't work just go to cabelas.com and search for obsolete
www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jhtml?id=0024300215402a&navAction=jump&navCount=0&indexId=&podId=0024300&catalogCode=IE&parentId=&parentType=&rid=&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fcatalog%2Fitem-link.jhtml.1_A&_DAV=search&hasJS=true

they have .577 snider too, don't see 10.5mm though

and in case anyone is wondering how I knew about that page, the catalog came the other day and I was flipping through it and noticed the obsolete ammo section and thought it was cool that they did that, so it stuck in my mind. Then I just had to check to see if the ammo in question for this thread was there

I'll give them a call. I think maybe a couple of boxes is in order.

Even if I couldn't reload for it, I'd still pick it up given the situation you spelled out for us.

But then, you only have to please yourself and not me.
