I've had my Bergara B-14R in an MDT chassis out to 300 yards, it's addictive fun to shoot the .22lr at longer distances.

Yup, 200-300 yard rimfire is not just only more accessible (how many 200 yard ranges are there vs. 500+ ?) but it is also much cheaper to get into.  For $2500 you can get a good rifle, decent glass and a case of match grade ammo (SK Std+, Rifle Match, Lapua Center-X, Ely offerings, etc)

Agree I love22’s always have, but now with nrl22 and prs everyone is noticing them again. Small targetsor extreme range 22 has you covered at a fraction of the cost and effort of centerfire.

I'm a new Bergara B14R owner and am really looking forward to shooting it at longer distances than I can at my backyard range.

I put 3 rounds on 12"x12" steel at 400yds from a 10/22, it was not easily repeated but it was non-trivial.

My more impressive shots were to put 5 rapid fire shots on a 12x12 at 100yds.

It totally maxed out the firing lines giggle factor as it was suppressed and subsonic. The fudds were amazed.

Those 400 yard shots definitely need a calm day or at least fairly uniform wind.

Shifting intermittent irregular wind will fuck up some .22 out there at distance.

Anything 300yds+ with a .22LR is a blast.

At 500 yds with my B14R (lefty), I max out my scope's elevation and hold an additional 4 MIL with the reticle.  It's very satisfying to hear 'pop'.......wait 4-5 seconds.....'ting'

(To put that into centerfire perspective, the only time I used all of my scope's elevation and had to use holdover, I was shooting my 6.5C at 1765 yards--just a few feet beyond a mile)

I only have a 200 yard range available, but I love getting the .22's out there to play.  A 10" plate at 200 using bulk pack ammo is challenging, but the success rate is high enough to make it fun.

Long range 22 is an absolute blast. My personal best is a 205 yard starling kill.

Remington Bucket O Bullets+ suppressed FVSR+ 8"×8" steel at 285 yards= more fun than I knew what to do with.
Then we moved on to a lever action 22lr with red dot. Now that was a challenge.
The plate is at the far bit of brush.
