What is the best bolt action 10/22?  Looking for one with bull barrel already installed for a good price.  Any ideas?

10/22 is a semi-auto, not a bolt action.  The 77/22 is the bolt action model.

Go with an All Weather Model 77/22 with the laminated stock. They are very sexy.

The Marlin and Savage are much better values.

Over on RFC, most people have been getting better factory groups out of those two.

Maybe not what your looking for...but how about a Bolt action Marlin or Savage .17hmr or .17hm2?
They have models w/ bull barrels too, if thats what you want.

A guy I know shot a woodchuck at a little over 200 yards w/ one the other day.  Killed instantly...it just fell over!  They are pretty good on paper too.  For $200 plus a scope you'd have a tack driver right out of the box.

Just a thought to consider.

No big deal.  10/22's are so popular that many people just call ALL .22's "10/22's"  Sort of like how there's a bunch of people who call any gun with a curved magazine an AK-47.

Stick around, read a bunch, and you will be a gun nut in no time.  (I use gun nut to mean anyone outside of LE or mil who knows more about guns than the average person.)

the 77/22 is pretty much the best as far as .22's go.  But you'll pay for it.  On the upside, they use 10/22 magazines (not clips, just in case).

You want uber cool?  a buddy of mine has one with a suppressed bull barrel.  The only noise is the firing pin and the bullet impact.

Also check out the CZ-452.  The "training rifle" version of the 452 turns up in the mid to low $200s depending on how much your shop marks things up.  I've been very happy with mine.  Its accurate, rugged and lots of fun to shoot.  Its worth looking into.

I have several AR's.  Would it be easier to buy a 22 upper?  Would I get the same accuracy?

I would say there isn't as much potential for accuracy with a .22 upper.  Check out the CZ .22LR's, they're nice guns.  Ruger 77/22's are nice too, but I prefer the Savage or the CZ.

not so sure about that, i have been thinking about a CLE or Accuracy Speaks .22lr upper, and have read good things about them on the competition forum here,
however, i have a M261 kit now, and get the same accuracy as my 10/22 (bone stock) with irons,
may want to consider a Win 75 or Rem 513T, both are great bolt guns,

If I shoot PMC Sidewinders through my 10/22 it is a bolt action.
