Obviously for supressor purposes.  I'd like to use mini-mags, which are about as hot as anything.  How short would a barrel need to be?

Why do you want to run hot rounds through a shot barrel?  Why not just go with standard velocity rounds in the first place.  Wouldn't that be like upgrading the engine in your car, and then filling the trunk with sand so you don't speed?

sometimes on semi/auto loading dont cycle with lower/underpowered ammo.

sorta like building up an engine in a truck that cant keep traction cause the rear is too light so you put sand bags in the rear to help it.

It takes from 5” to 7” of barrel to get a hi-speed rounds supersonic.

Mini-Mags stay subsonic in my 3.5" Walther P22 but I am told they will go supersonic in the 5" barreled version.
