I know this question has been answered and it isn't detrimental in regards to normal spring fed magazines but does it weaken 10/22 type mags?  I've read that it does but have seen nothing concrete.  Thanks in advance for any information.

No.

Short of corrosion weakening the spring, it will give all it's going to give on it's first compression / expansion.

i have heard that some leave the mag loaded initially to "break them in" so i wouldnt think so.

Traditional springs wear out from use eventually, or from abuse like bending or streching beyond tolerance.  The constant force springs are not as easy to work harden so they should last longer than the mag itself.
