I found a 10/22 with a walnut stock in a pawnshop. I don't remember their price but I think I could get it for $75.00. The problem is that I have no idea what they are worth used, and I bought one new about 12 years ago so I have no idea what they are worth.
Anyone have a ballpark price on a stock 10/22 with a walnut stock?

for $75, i would get it NOW

you can always modify it and supe it up by building on the reciever (which is worth the $75 already)

add a bull bbl, hogue stock, and you are set.....

Sports authority used to carry them for $149 but then they went PC and dumped all their guns and hunting gear.

If I could find one for less than $130 I'd snag it.

This is a used 10/22, but it is in a walnut stock, and it's really hard to shoot out a .22 barrel.

I just paid $164+tax for mine new at Academy. Wally World was cheaper, but they did not have any. $75 I'd also snatch it up in a heartbeat.

Is there anything that should be looked for in a used 10/22...  For example, are there older receivers vs newer receivers, better or worse trigger groups, or any compatability issues that make one 10/22 better or worse then another...

I have been watching for a decent deal on a 10/22 without much luck.  I want to get one along with a folder stock and some hicaps before any new elections but I have spent WAY too much on AK kits and tools lately.  It's sad I really believe a properly built 10/22 is the ultimate survival weapon and the only 22 I have is my Rem 541THB and while it is accurate... it's just not a 10/22!

That's a great price for any used 10-22 that isn't beat to shit.  The older model standard version came with a walnut stock and an aluminum butt plate whereas the newer/current standard ones are birch (I believe) with a plastic butt plate.  The walnut stocks and aluminum butt plate carry a little premium over the current ones to those who like the real walnut.  They are fun little rifles that can be modified to just about no end.  The Volquartsen hammer makes a big difference in the trigger quality and they are currently available as seconds for $20.  www.volquartsen.com/vc/public/ShowCart.do?itemId=353  That is about the best/must do modification I can recommend.  RimfireCentral.com is a terrific source for ideas on modifying the 10-22.  There are lots of troubleshooting threads and such there.  It is also a great place to get a heads up on sales related to 10-22 parts.  I got wind of Green Mountain selling off their stainless fluted heavy barrel seconds for less than $50 some time back (sadly none on sale now), but those "Seconds" sales pop up every now and then....for those who can stand to wait for them!!!  

Nevermind. On closer look the stock is scratched bad, the barrel has about 60% bluing left, etc. They wanted $100.00 for it. All I would use is the receiver and for $159.00 I can get a new Volquartsen receiver.

Dick's Sporting Goods has 10/22's on sale for $159 for the carbine. That is a little less than Wallyworld, plus you want support their monolopy. You can also get the rifle for no interest for one year if you get their credit card and spend at least $300. I did that and walked out with the ruger and a nikon scope and a few other items. Sale ends the 17th of september, I think.

I have a 10/22 with a 3x9 Simmons I put on it when I bought it 10 years ago. I just can't pass up a bargain if I see it.

I was just in Dicks here in Minneapolis and they had 10/22's on sale for $139 with the sale ending today.  That is the lowest I've seen a new 10/22 sell for in quite a while.

Damn, i wonder if they had that sale where I am. I would have bought one at that price.

Sports Authority in DFW has walnut for $135 & synthetic for $185.  This is at an Oshmans they took over recently.  They may be marked down just to clear the guns out.

Sports Authority by me went PC when they remodeled, and took out all the guns and gun safes, etc.

Since I already have a 10/22 I passed on this one.
