Decided to build a custom gun cabinet to house my Mossberg 590 20" and my Ruger SR556C.
Added the blue felt for some color via velcro to the wood to keep the felt in place. Added soft velcro sides to keep the guns in place. Decided the shelf could hold a dual magpul 30 rounders coupled together.

That's nice. I suggest you seal the wood to protect it and prevent stains. I like boiled linseed oil myself but there is an almost endless list of shellac, varnish and polyurethane finishes you could go with.
